What is the Charger Book Pass?

The Charger Book Pass is a program with our Campus Bookstore to provide an easy, cost-effective, single-price option for reducing textbook costs for all Cypress College students. It is part of the Cypress All-Access Passport, which also includes the Charger Food Pass and Charger Bus Pass, underscoring the college’s commitment to providing critical support for students attending the college.
The Bookstore has a new concierge service desk which will help you with any questions about the Charger Book Pass or you can email them directly at: chargerbookpass@follett.com.
If you’re registered for one or more classes at Cypress College, you automatically have the Charger Book Pass! There’s nothing else you need to do to get it. No student will pay more than $100 for all of their required course materials at the start of each term, and students will be given the option to opt out of the program anytime before September 9th.
Follow these directions to pay for your Charger Book Pass:
Log in to myGateway.
Click on the "Student Tools" dropdown in the left-hand navigation.
Click on "Pay Account Balance."
Click on "Student Records."
Click on "View Account Summary by Term."
If you have a balance, select a payment method at the top of the page.
If you would like to set up a payment plan, please click on "Set up a Payment Plan at Cypress College.
If you believe a hold has been placed on your account in error, please visit Admissions and Records on the 1st floor of the Student Center for in-person service Monday-Thursday at 8 a.m.-6 p.m. You may also email admissions@cypresscollege.edu.
All students are automatically included in the Charger Book Pass program; however, students may opt out of the program during specified opt-out periods. You will have the option to opt out at the start of each term. Cypress College strongly recommends students attend the first meeting of all their classes before deciding whether or not to opt out.
To opt out, you will need to access the Charger Book Pass Opt-Out Portal and create an account using your Cypress College preferred email address (the email address you receive college communications at). Please check your college preferred email address for information on how to log in to the Opt-Out portal and review the process and specific deadlines. The email will be sent from noreply@follett.com and you may need to check your spam or junk folder.

The library (2nd floor of the LLRC) also has a selection of current textbooks that can be used for 2 hours at a time in the library with your student ID card.
