Can students get free access to Microsoft 365 Apps (Word, Excel, etc.)?
Do students have free access to the Microsoft Office suite, like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint?
Answer
Yes! Microsoft 365 app (Word, Excel, etc.) are available to students, faculty and staff through myGateway.
Instructions
Log in to myGateway (mg.nocccd.edu)
Click on "CC Email" in the lefthand navigation under Shortcuts.
On the Microsoft 365 log in screen, enter your username and password:
- Username: your student number@cypresscollege.edu
- For example: 00001111@cypresscollege.edu
- Password: your myGateway password.
If you already set up 2FA (two-factor authentication), follow the prompts. If you not set up 2FA, you have a couple of options:
- Download and use the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Provide your phone number to have 2FA codes messaged to you.
Once you have completed 2FA and you are logged in, access your email by clicking on "Outlook" in the lefthand navigation, or click the nine dots in the upper lefthand corner to open a panel showing all the apps you now have access to.
Now you can use these tools to help you succeed!
